We moved to Ramsey in 2009, not knowing the area and with both myself and my Husband working, we started the search for a dog walker for our 10 month old, Rottweiler Puppy! We stumbled across the Rambling Paws website, and with the brilliant reviews, we quickly arranged to meet Michelle. From the moment Michelle walked into our house, herself and Simon have become part of our family, and I don’t know what we would have done without them! No matter the weather, come rain, shine, snow or hail they have always turned up, they are extremely reliable, they even made arrangements to be there for her when I went into labour. We cannot thank Rambling Paws enough for the care and love they have provided for Megan, she is now an old lady at 10 years old, and struggling with arthritis but we know with absolute certainty that she is in the best of hands. The support and advice we have received from Michelle over the years has been invaluable. Megan still waits by the door with excitement everyday waiting to be picked up. She loves being out with Rambling Paws, and socialising with the other dogs. We highly recommend Rambling Paws, Michelle and Simon provide a professional, trustworthy and reliable service, and they love our dog like she was their own.

Michelle has been walking our old boy Braddock for nearly 10 years now and has been a great help to us in looking after him as he’s gone from a small puppy to an old dog (he’s the first dog we ever had and her hints and tips on diet, training and exercise have proved invaluable). Even now he’s always really happy to see Michelle when she comes round to pick him up (more than he is when he see us!). Michelle and Simon have adapted his walk and routine as he has got older (and slower) – we’ve never been worried when he is out with them and know he is in safe hands and well looked after. We’ve recommended Michelle and Simon’s services to a number of friends and family and we’ve never been let down.

We use Rambling Paws regularly for daycare and occasional overnight boarding for our very large German Shepherd, George. George is very protective of us and as such does not really get on with other dogs and like most German Shepherds is very suspicious of strangers but he absolutely adores Michelle and Simon and is always on his best behaviour with them. On the days Michelle or Simon pick him up he gets so excited when they arrive, he bounces around like a puppy and is ready to jump in the van and get going without even saying goodbye to us. Michelle has sent me videos of George bounding around their secure field frolicking and playing nicely with all sizes of other dogs. Rambling paws are very experienced working with large dogs and we would not trust anyone else with our dog. We would absolutely recommend Rambling Paws for anyone who feels their dog is a central member of the family.

It was other people’s testimonials that led us to Michelle for which we are so grateful. We can only echo most wholeheartedly what has already been said in that Michelle and Simon have been friendly, flexible, utterly reliable and trustworthy with our most treasured possession, Baz ! In the 3 years since we have been using Michelle’s services, not just for Baz, but for our friends’ dogs too, we have NEVER seen an unhappy dog. All of them trot to the van without so much as a backward glance, knowing that they are going to be well looked after and have fun! We really cannot overstate how much Michelle and Simon have done and they deserve every success, we are really going to struggle to find anyone to replace them now we have moved away. But the best vote of confidence they can have from our perspective is that Baz will miss them. Thank you.

My name is Bertie and I am a black and white Jack Russell.
Because my mum and dad work 3 days a week and I need to have a walk during the day I have had a doggy walker called “Rambling Paws” for last 5 years or so.
The time I have spent with Rambling Paws has been great fun and very beneficial to me, as I tend to be a little grumpy with other dogs when I am out with my mum- I protect her!
So Simon from Rambling Paws has not only has let me run free in a secure field but he has also taught me to play with some other dogs.
I am moving house soon and I will miss my doggy friends and Simon and Michelle from Rambling Paws.
I just wanted to say if anyone is thinking of using Rambling Paws for their dog that they will be in very safe hands. Also if their dog is a bit grumpy or anxious they have the time and patience to try and help them like they did for me.

We have been using Rambling Paws for a little over 2 years now (although to use the work ‘using’ is somewhat of an understatement’). We are the very proud owners of a totally spoiled and much loved Spanish Water Dog named Coco. We wanted a dog for about a decade but didn’t ‘follow our heart’ because we didn’t feel, as members of the rat race, it would be right to leave the type of dog we wanted at home whilst we worked. Then we found Rambling Paws and the rest is history! Both Michelle and Simon are, quite simply, an extension to Coco’s family. We use Rambling Paws 3 times a week for day care and the joy in Coco when either Michelle or Simon come to pick her up is testament to the excellent service and care they provide. They are also extremely flexible and accommodating. I often find that my work demands mean last minute changes to my working location and therefore changes to Coco’s day care. These are always understood and accommodated. We also use Rambling Paws for Coco’s annual summer vacation (so us humans can have a well deserved holiday). Leaving Coco with Michelle and Simon is like leaving her with family. We have total confidence in her enjoying her stay and being looked after as though she is one of their own.
There are a growing number of dog walking services and sitter services; what I would say is that with Michelle you get the added benefit of an absolute professional (I like to refer to her as a new age Barbara Woodhouse!). Her knowledge of our canine friends, and her ability to understand their behavior and provide guidance to support and resolve problems, is second to none.
I highly recommend the services of Rambling Paws. Given half the chance Coco would also provide a ‘high paw’ in their honor too! She clearly adores Michelle and Simon – which is the seal of approval for us.

I used Rambling Paws whilst I was pregnant to walk my young active dog.The Service was always flexible, reliable, and one I trusted with my much loved pet. Having a sometimes timid rescue dog – I was partially happy with the report my Dog quickly developed with Simon, she would wait at the window for his van, when he arrived she would run out, jump in the back, her tail waging – ready to go.
On her return I could tell my dog had been well exercised and that she was relaxed having had fun. Rambling Paw’s always took my dog to a safe enclosed paddock where she was let off for the entire time, I was surprised and very happy this was being offered, I was even shown photos of my dog playing whilst out on her walk. I felt happy to entrust RP’s with my dog and would defiantly use them again if I needed to.
I would recommend Rambling Paw’s highly and would describe the service I received as excellent.

Friends recommended Michelle to me when Charlie (my black Labrador) was a young pup. I occasionally have to work very long days, and knew I needed someone to walk him on those days. In reality, it has worked so well that Rambling Paws has walked Charlie most weeks for the past 4 years or so. Michelle and Simon also take him for occasional full days and overnight stays – and I would book Rambling Paws before I booked any holiday!
To be honest, I was quite naïve when I first contacted Michelle, and had no idea what to look for in a dog walker. But my first impression of Michelle was that she gave me utter confidence. She visited my house to assess Charlie; she explained to me that she wanted to assess his temperament so she could determine which of her regular dogs he would walk comfortably with etc; she also told me what experience she has with dogs (plenty) and how many she will take at one time. She hit it off with Charlie from the start.
Michelle now routinely takes Charlie 3 days a week, and I am convinced that he knows which days she is coming. Occasionally she takes him when I am still at home, and when she calls for him he dashes off to her without a backward glance at his mummy; this is slightly sad for me – but a very good indication of how much he enjoys his time with Michelle. When he does come back he is tired and very content. Rambling Paws is also extremely flexible. Michelle has taken Charlie at very short notice – an absolute godsend as I found out this summer.
In addition to dog walking / day care, Simon now provides Charlie’s food and treats; and Michelle is always on hand for sound advice.
I cannot speak highly enough of Michelle and Simon and would fully recommend Rambling Paws to anyone. Charlie clearly adores them both, and they have become good friends.

We went to Michelle and Simon after reading the testimonials and were delighted we did. Michelle and Simon have been walking our Cavapoo Poppy since she was a puppy, as soon as I met Michelle and Simon we knew straight away Poppy would have the most amazing time with them and all her doggy friends. Poppy went out with them 5 days a week everyday and loved every minute. I’m sure Poppy knew when Simon was at the door before I did, she would spin round with excitement every time he picked her up. We recently moved to Wales and wish we could have moved Michelle and Simon with us . Not only did they look after Poppy as one of their own they gave us great advice and support throughout the 6 months we used their dog walking services. They are a hard act to follow as we are finding out trying to find another dog walker in Wales with the same standards of care and knowledge Simon and Michelle have. We will miss you very much especially Poppy thank you for everything.
Kate Gamble (Brampton, Nov 2014)
We have nothing but praise and thanks for Michelle, Simon & the Rambling Paws team who have helped look after our labrador Hardy since he was 3 months old. From the initial introductory home visit we were impressed with Michelle’s professional and clearly experienced manner. We haven’t been disappointed. We work shifts weekdays and weekends, and these have often changed at short notice. A text or call to Michelle has always been met with a quick and helpful response. They are reliable and trustworthy.
We are in no doubt that Hardy is cared for well and benefits from the socialising and training that he gets. He is always excited to leave with them in the morning (Hardy is usually found looking out of the window waiting for them to arrive!) and returns happy and tired out after lots of exercise. On occasions when Hardy has been unwell whilst with Michelle, she has dealt with it very competently and I have complete trust in her being able to deal with any doggy emergency.
Their very professional and flexible service is something we have not found replicated anywhere else since we moved house. We would wholeheartedly recommend them.

I cannot recommend ‘Rambling Paws’ enough, I would be lost without them!
Michelle has looked after my dog Poppy since she was 4 months old. I had to return to full time work and I needed someone to care for her in the day time. Having been let down by another company I was delighted and so relieved to find Rambling Paws. From the moment Michelle met Poppy I could see there was an immediate bond between them; Poppy was relaxed, happy and eager to play, whilst Michelle’s love of dogs was so obvious. I was and still am impressed with the professional, organised but flexible way, Michelle runs her business. As a first time owner, Michelle has answered all my questions no matter how simple and naïve. Throughout our association Michelle has given me good practical advice on training and feeding and support when Poppy decided she was going to develop a liking for pheasants! My husband jokes that Michelle is my ‘dog guru’. Whilst out on their walks Michelle always keeps a close eye on Poppy informing me immediately if Poppy goes lame, looks off colour etc. When I am working, I have complete piece of mind that Poppy, will be walked safely and have fun playing with her friends. She has a better social life sometimes than I do! Michelle and Simon have had Poppy for day care and whilst we have been on holiday and unable to take her with us. Poppy has thoroughly enjoyed living in such a dog friendly household and enjoyed her holiday as much as we did.
When Simon joined the team in April 2014 Rambling Paws improved even more. His love of dogs was evident and Poppy was only too happy to have a new friend.
Michelle and Simon give an excellent all round service: reliable, flexible, friendly and supportive. I have a happy, healthy, well-socialised dog, much of it due to the superb advice and service from Rambling Paws. Over the years Michelle and Simon have become good friends and I am looking forward to many more happy years, especially with dog number two, whenever that will be.
Tracy (Bury, March 2014)
So pleased with Rambling Paws. Michelle is a lovely person and nothing she doesn’t know about dogs. Misha my Cavvy King Charles loves her. I trust Michelle 100%. She has a key and collects and drops Misha off. Misha love her walks with Michelle and her other doggie friends. I highly recommend Rambling Paws.

Michelle looked after my dog Pebbles in her own home Mon-Fri from December 2011 to March 2012 (sometimes at short notice) while I was out of the country. When Pebbles came home on the Friday after spending the day with Michelle and her dogs he was always happy and tired and flopped asleep within an hour of being home so you know he is being exercised over and above what you would expect. Pebbles has come out of his shell (he was a rescue dog) since going to Michelle and has bulked out to his recommended weight. We are hoping to continue Pebbles going to Michelle even if it is for walks during the day while we are at work as she is professional, reliable and more than that just loves dogs. I cannot recommend her enough to anyone who wants their dogs to be looked after as if they were Michelle’s own.

I struck gold when after moving to Huntingdon I came across Rambling Paws. My dog by then was 8 years old, never been in a crate/cage for travel and never been in kennels. Naturally I was nervous about trusting ‘my boy’ with just anyone and indeed the key to my house.
Within a few minutes of meeting Michelle all my fears were put to rest. She and Stark hit it off immediately and she had no problems in showing me her police check certificate and insurance docs.
Knowing that my dog was not great in the car Michelle used her magic to get him to enter her van by himself and get accustomed to it before any outings with him alone. It took her less than 15 minutes, I had been struggling for years!
Stark is generally good with other dogs but has been bitten before and can be nervous. I noticed after a while on our own walks how much better he was and how sociable he became. He also became better in the car, both as a by product of time spent with Michelle.
Rambling Paws clearly have a passion for their work and the dogs they walk. I’ve never seen my clingy dog so happy to leave me, not even a backwards glance! He has clearly loved his time with them. I used to love the updates about his time out chasing the girls and playing and his longs naps that followed leaving me in no doubt that he had received a good run.
Life moves on and so have we. I am so sad that as a result of moving away, Stark will miss his time with Rambling Paws and his 4 legged friends.
Stark has been accommodated at short notice so many times that I have lost count, never with a grumble and always happy to help.
Rambling Paws have been a real gem and I wish them all the best for the future. I have always recommended their services to people I meet and am happy to endorse them as one very satisfied customer.
Thank you for taking such great care of Stark, we will miss you.

Michelle has been looking after Rolo for the past 3 months, 4 days a week whilst I am at work during the day. I trust Michelle whole heartedly and Rolo has developed a fantastic relationship with her, when I say her name he gets nearly falls over with excitement. She goes out of her way to accomodate Rolo and myself and is always there when I need advice regarding him.
Rolo is shattered when he comes home which gives me a peaceful evening! His behaviour has improved drastically and he is a much easier dog to live with without Michelle my personal situation might have meant giving up rolo so I’m forever greatful for everything she has done for us! xxx

Jet, our Labrador has been enjoying the services of Rambling Paws for the last year. Both myself and my partner work and as a result we rely on Rambling Paws to walk Jet during the days while we are out. Michelle has a key to our house and simply takes Jet out on the days we need her help. The days on which we need Rambling Paws to walk Jet varies each week but I simply text Michelle in advance and she is always able to walk Jet. Michelle is 100% reliable, even at short notice, which is exactly what we need as we both work away from St Ives (where we live).
In terms of the service, Jet clearly loves going out with the other dogs for his walk and always responds very positively when we meet Michelle. There is clearly a strong bond between them. Not only is Jet really well exercised but the socialisation with other dogs has really helped his training too. Michelle has been able to offer other training advice to us and has also put us in contact with a local Dog Training Club which we have been attending for several months now with great success. The combination of this and Michelle’s walks has really helped Jet.
I could not recommend Rambling Paws enough to someone who has a dog but who is unable to walk them all of the times they would like to. The service offered is excellent for both us and Jet. We have the comfort of Michelle’s 100% reliable service and Jet has the benefit of really enjoyable and stimulating walks.
Paul (St Ives, October 2010).
I have no hesitation in unreservedly recommending Rambling Paws to anyone needing help looking after their dog. Rambling Paws have been taking our Labrador, Lucy, out regularly during weekdays since she was a puppy. As we work during the week it is hard to now imagine how we would manage without Rambling Paws.
From the outset when we first met Michelle, I was struck by the very professional but innately caring approach. You are left in no doubt that your dog will be looked after and will have a great time. It is clear to us that Lucy absolutely loves going out with Rambling Paws- she quivers with excitement when their van appears and leaps in without a backward glance and she always comes back tired but happy.
On numerous occasions I have called or text Michelle at very short notice to ask if she could take Lucy out when I have been unexpectedly delayed returning home, or when I have had to be out all day without any notice. Rambling Paws has always been able to help and it is reassuring to know that they are there in case of a crisis!
In summary Rambling Paws provides an incredibly reliable, professional and caring service. Your dog will love it- and so will you.
Rachel, owner of Lucy, (Godmanchester, September 2010)
We have been using Rambling Paws for roughly 8 months now to exercise our 2 collie dogs (6 months & 2 years old) during the daytime when my partner and I are working and I really can’t praise the service highly enough.
Not only am I confident that my dogs are thoroughly exercised whilst we are at work but we have also seen huge improvements in their general behaviour. Walking with other dogs has improved their social skills no end and their recall has also come on in leaps and bounds.
I know my dogs are in safe hands and our 2 year old collie Charlie has a very special bond with Michelle in particular. (sometimes when we see her out and about he pines to get to her!) Michelle is an honest and trustworthy individual (she has her own set of keys to our house) and is always willing to help with any advice or practical solution to a behavioural query. She genuinely wants what is best for our dogs and I thoroughly recommend Rambling Paws to anyone who is considering using the service.
Jen (Stukeley, April 2009)
Michelle provided dog walking services for our Springer Spaniel (Ollie) for over 3 years. In short, her approach was professional, flexible and understanding of both our work schedules – she therefore readily earned our absolute trust and admiration. Ollie received good quality exercise in his off-lead ‘pack’ walks (essential for a Springer Spaniel!) and benefited from Michelle’s attentive and enthusiastic attitude where his progress was regularly fed back to us. We were also very grateful for her excellent advice on correcting a resource guarding issue we encountered (now resolved); indeed, from pet supplies, to behavioral advice to kennel recommendations, Michelle offered the full compliment of pet services we could have wished for. Notwithstanding all of this, the fact that we returned from work to a healthy and happy dog – without exception – is a real testament to the quality of Michelle’s services. Sadly, we have now moved away from the area, but we consider ourselves extremely lucky to have found Michelle’s business – Rambling Paws. In searching for alternative dog walking arrangements in our new location, it has become apparent that Michelle provided a level of service that is unlikely to be matched – Michelle therefore comes with our highest recommendation.
Alan and Davina (Hartford, July 2008)
Thank you so much for your advice in helping us with Heidi’s location guarding issues. I am glad to report that it has been successful already, we can now approach her with no problem in fact she is so excited for us to stroke her while she is looking rather comfortable on a chair. We will carry on with the good work and will continue the process while she is in her crate.
We both cannot thank you enough for your help as her behaviour was so out of character for her and we were so disappointed with ourselves for creating such a condition in her.
